London Collections: Men Opens Spring 2014 Fashion Season!

Pocket squares at the ready? Check. Because men’s street style is about to get too fast too furious as London Collections: Men gets underway!
Tomorrow, the dapper chaps of London will be out in force as London Collections: Men opens for four days of style, swagger, and fashion soul with the start of men’s fashion week.

The week will begin with Dolce & Gabbana opening their fourth boutique store in London on Saturday during which the Spring 2014 Tailoring Collection for men will be presented.

Then, the shows get underway! With Lou Dalton, Alexander McQueen (Men), Paul Smith (Men), Tom Ford (Men), and many more lined up to showcase their newest collections of the season.

Biggest news of the week, however, is that after 10 years showing in Milan, Burberry announced just days before kickoff that it will be moving its menswear show to London! Which follows in the footsteps of its womenswear line that returned to the London catwalks in 2009.

“London is the creative heart of Burberry and our global headquarters, so we are incredibly excited to be showing our next men's collection here,” said Creative Director, Christopher Bailey.

He continues: “The country's proud menswear heritage and outstanding contemporary talent give it a unique and powerful energy. It is a wonderful time to be bringing our menswear show home.”

Meanwhile New York- based brand rag & bone, returns to its British roots and will showcase its Spring 2014 menswear collection for the first ever time in the UK.

London Collections: Men marks the first of the menswear Spring 2014 collections shows with Milan and Paris soon to follow.

Sarah Jessica Parker Designs New Shoe Line!

We all know and love her as Manolo-obsessed character Carrie Bradshaw from ‘Sex and the City,’ and now 15 years since her show debut the fun-loving actress has announced the launch of her own shoe line!
So what can we expect from the collection?

Sarah Jessica Parker has partnered with the longtime CEO at Manolo Blahnik, George Malkemus, for the launch of SJP, as the collection will be called.

The line will be available early next year and include not only footwear but a few bags and coats too! And rather than getting our hopes up by dangling forbidden candy in front of us, SJP intends on making her collection affordable and accessible to all -- which is good news all round!

Ranging from $130 to $300, shoes will take inspiration from old-school label designs focusing on keeping things simple, elegant, and chic. And just to get in the spirit, here's Bradshaw having her Cinderella moment with Mr. Big!

Happy Birthday Adriana Lima, Anja Rubik, Abbey Lee Kershaw! What Do These Three Have in Common?

June 12 is a day full of incredible fashion events in history.
The greatest fashion news of all -- three beautiful baby girls were born in three separate regions: Brazil, Poland, and Australia. These beauties would grow up not only to be world class supermodels, fashion icons, and role models to many, but also sexy models for Victoria’s Secret, one of the best high fashion lingerie brands of our time. On June 12, we celebrate the birth of Adriana Lima, Anja Rubik, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Here’s why we love these three A-listers:

Adriana Lima - Victoria’s Secret Angel

Adriana Lima, born June 12, 1981, is more than just a model. She’s also a mommy to Valentina and Sienna with hubby Marko Jaric. But that hasn’t stopped this Brazilian bombshell from carrying out her duties as one of the most well known Victoria’s Secret Angels, headlining the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in 2013 with Alessandra Ambrosio and others. And she’s only 32 years old! How about that?

Anja Rubik - Victoria’s Secret Runway Model

Anja Rubik, born June 12, 1983, is probably better known for her runway walks at Milan and Paris fashion weeks than she is for her appearance on the Victoria’s Secret fashion show runways. But in fact, this Polish model appeared on the VS runway for shows in 2009, 2010, and 2011. She’s also known as one of the most in-demand models currently in the fashion industry and a favorite of designers Karl Lagerfeld and Giuseppe Zanotti Join us in wishing her a big, fab 3-0!
Abbey Lee Kershaw - Victoria’s Secret Punk?

Abbey Lee Kershaw, born June 12, 1987, is not only the youngest but also the punkiest of the three models. Having repeatedly changed her hair color from platinum blonde to brown, she also wore a silver Rag & Bone slip dress with black underwear and her eight tattoos to the 2013 Met Gala definining punk to a T. Along with her look, she outlined the letters Gun Control on her tummy. But the punk aesthetic hasn’t kept this model rocker from appearing on a Victoria’s Secret runway in 2008 and 2009 where she kept up her fierce punk strut on the catwalk.

4 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Wardrobe

4 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Wardrobe

No matter how much you love your job, one thing's for sure: Dressing for a 9 to 5 gig can occasionally be more tedious than work itself. Yes, we all want to look polished and professional, but we also don't want to conform to the stereotypical trap of neutral "work clothes" (i.e., boring dress pants, ill-fitting button downs, sensible shoes.)

Luckily, summer is the perfect time to get inventive with your work attire, while still adhering to the dress code your office environment requires. Whether it's sprucing up a blazer and white shirt with a pair of saturated cropped trousers, or topping off a basic look with a bright leather bag, there are ways to make a colorful impact.

1. Add a pair of solid bold trousers.

Saturated pants can absolutely be office-appropriate when styled correctly. Go for a solid pair in a bold shade (as opposed to busy prints) and keep the rest of your outfit as neutral as you can. You can’t go wrong with a fitted white T-shirt, a structured black blazer; and a simple pair of pointy black flats or white heels.

2. Same as the above—but choose a skirt.

Like bright pants, a basic skirt in a bold shade is an easy way to add a chic pop of color to your work look this summer. Choose silhouettes that are office-friendly (save those super-short minis for the weekend, ladies), and pair with a tucked-in white top, a lightweight chambray shirt, or a sleeveless silky blouse in black or white. From there, add a great pair of flats or low heels.

3. Add a bold bag in lightweight leather.

A great bag is a solid way to add some brightness to a look. For summer, choose a structured satchel or cross-body style in a lightweight leather that won’t weigh you down, but will pair well with anything, from a work-ready shift dress to jeans a basic T-shirt.

4. Go for bright flats.

There’s something incredibly hip about a colored shoe when it’s hot out, and we’re all about adding a pair to our workday arsenal. It should be noted that, while we do love a bright heel, they can come off looking a bit too “where’s the party”  for some office environments, so going with a bold flat keeps things chicer.
